The second edition in Virginia Distillery Company's Brewer's Coalition series pairs American single malt whisky with barrels from Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout. Distilled from 100% malted barley, the whisky spent more than five years in premium ex-bourbon barrels before moving into the stout casks, with just twenty barrels sourced for the release. It is bottled at 50% ABV in a 700 ml format.
Aromas of rich mocha, banana bread, and honeyed nougat carry through to the palate, where malty beer character comes forward alongside a touch of cinnamon and a molasses note that lingers. Full-bodied and layered, it reflects the shared work of a Virginia distillery and an American brewery.
