Marking 55 years since the film first reached cinemas, this limited edition single malt continues the partnership between The Macallan and James Bond. Distilled in 2007 and bottled at 45.5% ABV in a 700 ml bottle, it was built by Whisky Maker Russell Greig from an unusual cask selection: sherry seasoned oak, red wine seasoned oak, and bespoke hybrid casks constructed from both European and American oak. The sherry seasoning speaks to Bond's discerning taste in the spirit, while the American oak component nods to the Las Vegas and California sequences. Red wine seasoned casks, rarely used here, reference a turning point in the story and bring added layers and depth.
The whisky carries its natural colour, a shade that recalls the Aztec sandstone of Nevada. Packaging draws on the film's creative archive, presenting a behind-the-scenes look alongside imagery associated with the movie. The result is a multifaceted and profoundly remarkable release, reflecting a narrative in which not everything is as it seems, and echoing the precision and inventiveness shared by Bond and The Macallan.
