Two whisky-making traditions meet in The Macallan Litha, a Highland single malt matured entirely in first fill sherry seasoned oak casks sourced from Jerez de la Frontera in Spain. Bottled at 40% ABV in a 700 ml format, it pours a deep gold and carries the weight of that cask influence throughout.
The nose opens with butterscotch, vanilla and chocolate, threaded with citrus and tropical fruit. The palate brings vanilla ice cream topped with berry compote, toasted oak and warming wood spice, followed by salted caramel and pecans. A medium finish leaves fruit, vanilla and oak behind. This limited edition is presented in packaging with bespoke artwork by award-winning illustrator Sija Hong.
