Description

For this release, casks that once held Old Fitzgerald bourbon were shipped from Kentucky to Arandas, where they were filled with Tequila Ocho Añejo. The barrels lend caramel depth and aromatic weight to a tequila that keeps its agave character front and center, while a bottling strength of 48% ABV (96 proof) gives the spirit extra concentration.

Expect coffee, toffee, toasted oak, orange peel and plenty of cacao, followed by toasted coconut, nuts, cherries and dark chocolate, with a whisper of wheat, maple syrup, roasted pineapple and a light mineral edge. A collaboration between two sets of makers, it's an añejo built for sipping, framed by bourbon wood chosen specifically for the job. 750 ml.

    About Tequila Ocho

Tequila Ocho was founded in 2008 by Carlos Camarena, a fifth-generation agave farmer and third-generation tequilero, and Tomas Estes, who introduced tequila culture to Europe. Drawing on the terroir thinking behind fine wine, the pair set out to bottle the purest expression of Blue Weber agave.
