Part of the 2023 Special Release Spirited Xchange collection, Talisker The Wild Explorador is an 11 year old single malt that looks outward from Skye, drawing on craft and cultures from around the world. This distillery-first bottling is finished in a mix of White, Tawny, and Ruby Port casks, each contributing its own layer to the whisky's character. The label artwork comes from Rui Racardo, whose style blends detailed realism with a retro sensibility to produce striking illustrations.
The aroma leads with fruit, grape, sea salt, and smoke. On the palate it turns creamy-smooth, carrying rich fruit alongside salt, pepper, and smoke, then closes long with chili pepper and Szechuan pepper heat. Serve it neat, over ice, or with a splash of water, which brings the saltiness forward. One 750 ml bottle at 59.7% ABV (119.4 proof).
