Pineau des Charentes is a traditional fortified wine from the Charentes region of France, made by blending fresh grape juice with Cognac eau-de-vie and aging it in large oak barrels. We were inspired by this unique style and finished our 6-year-old straight rye whiskey for an additional 2 years in a 119-gallon Pineau des Charentes barrels to bring together these rich aromas and flavors. This whiskey offers notes of grilled peaches, toasted almonds, and strawberry candy, with hints of cinnamon and vanilla. Flavors of plum and baked pear mingle with rich caramel and rye spices, before a distinct herbaceous finish.
