Marking three hundred years since the House was founded in 1724, this commemorative XO is built from eaux-de-vie drawn largely from the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne crus, the terroirs behind Rémy Martin's Fine Champagne Cognac. The components range from 10 to 37 years of age, brought together by the cellar master into a blend with considerable depth. The release follows the house practice of the "anniversary coupe," in which part of an earlier rare blend is carried into the new one, keeping the style continuous from one century to the next.
The 700 ml decanter has been reworked for the occasion, with golden javelins, a 300-year commemorative collar, and presentation packaging carrying the Centaur emblem; certain limited editions also bear artwork by artist James Jean, referencing prosperity, creativity, and the spirit of the House. In the glass, the cognac is fruit-forward and full, with dried fruit, oak, and a subtle spice running through a warm, complex core and a long, velvety close. Bottled at 40% ABV.
