Old Forester Kentucky Straight Bourbon 86 Proof arrives in a 375 ml bottle at 43% ABV. Created in 1870, it is the only bourbon continuously distilled and marketed by the founding family before, during and after Prohibition, and it ages in the same facility where the whisky barrels are charred.
The aroma is sharp and sweet, carrying a strong floral character that swirls with hints of mint, rich tobacco leaf and vanilla, alongside bright, dense caramel toffee, ripe apple and other sweet fruit, baking spices of clove and nutmeg, and toasted oak.
On the palate it is sharp at first, then softens quickly to reveal hints of spice and light orange. The finish is long, warm and slightly drying, sweet and light with hints of oak and apple that linger.
