Description

Nikka From The Barrel brings together a range of malt and grain whiskies from Nikka's distilleries in a blend built to capture the concentration of whisky drawn directly from the cask. Once the components are married, the whisky goes back into used casks for a second resting period, giving its strong elements time to settle into one another. It is bottled at 51.4% ABV in a compact 500 ml bottle.

The result is thick and assertive, opening on dried fruit, caramel, spice and oak before vanilla, dark toffee and a thread of gentle smoke come through. Warming pepper runs underneath, and the finish is long and structured, holding its shape through to the end.

    About Nikka

Nikka Whisky was started in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanese whisky, pairing Scottish method with Japanese precision and craft across distilleries that include Yoichi and Miyagikyo. Its whiskies are known for balance, complexity and authenticity, and From The Barrel is among the most recognizable, small in format yet full in character.
