Martingale comes from Maison Thomas, a French house that leans on long-standing Cognac methods and careful selection of eaux-de-vie. Bottled at 40% ABV in a 700 ml format, it spends its maturation in French oak, where it picks up an amber cast along with layers of oak, vanilla and dried fruit.
The palate carries caramel sweetness alongside the fruit and wood, closing on a sophisticated finish. It reads best taken neat, which leaves room for the traditional French brandy production behind it to show through.
