Maestro Dobel Atelier Tequila Extra Añejo 2022 Edition is bottled at 750 ml and 40% ABV. The Trajineras release is aged in American and European oak barrels, a combination that brings forward agave, vanilla, toasted almonds and a range of spices.
The color is dark amber with bright gold and copper tones. The aroma layers sweet notes of agave, caramel, vanilla, chocolate, walnut, prune, dried fruit, butter, pineapple, apple, cinnamon and almonds over light toasted wood. The palate is warm with wood, caramel and vanilla alongside agave and fruit, closing with an exceptionally smooth aftertaste and a velvety, silky finish that ends in gentle warmth.
Each bottle is hand-painted in vivid colors using the same technique employed for traditional alebrijes, the small wood or cardboard figurines depicting fantastical creatures that originated in Oaxaca, Mexico. The label records the edition theme, the name of the artisan, the maestro tequilero, the date and the number of bottles produced from that harvest.
