Rather than working within the notion of vintage, he looked beyond it to create the most generous expression of Champagne each year.
That approach rests on close attention to the character of the vineyards, respect for the individuality of each plot and its wine, and an extensive library of reserve wines drawn from many different years. The blend that results is the one known today as Krug Grande Cuvée.
The profile is balanced, with ripe fruit, subtle oak and soft tannins leading into a smooth, refined finish. Bottled at 750 ml, 12.5% ABV.
