Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Special Release Tanyard Hill Rye is the first bottling to name Tanyard Hill on the label. The whiskey was barreled in 2015 in new charred American White Oak and rested for nearly a decade on the top floors of Barrel House 1, one of the distillery's oldest barrelhouses, sitting atop Tanyard Hill—a location that shapes both proof and flavor.
The grain bill is 70% rye, 18% corn and 12% malted barley. It is ground, fermented, distilled in copper stills and charcoal mellowed using Jack Daniel's traditional process, then bottled at barrel proof between 130.2 and 148.8 proof.
The nose shows dark fruit, plum and fig with sweet oak. The palate follows with candied mint, dark chocolate and layers of baking spice, closing on clove and sweet tobacco with long-lasting oak balance. 700ml, 71.25% ABV.
