Gold Spot Irish Whiskey 135th Anniversary is a nine-year-old Irish single pot still whiskey bottled at 51.4% ABV (102.8 proof) and presented non chill filtered. It is the first release in the Spot family to be offered in a 700 ml format.
Maturation takes place across four cask types: bourbon, sherry, Bordeaux and port. The result is a complex, full-flavored pot still whiskey carrying rich caramel and vanilla aromas alongside layers of oak, toasted nuts and a smooth, lingering sweetness.
- Nose: a light mix of pineapple, kiwi, green banana and lime zest, followed by pot still spices, baked apple, hazelnut and toasted wood
- Palate: a subtle mix of fruit with a hint of clove and cracked black peppercorns; sweet spices, vanilla and cinnamon build on the wood's nutty contribution
