Description

George Dickel Bottled in Bond 12 Year is a Tennessee whisky drawn from barrels filled during a single distilling season, Spring 2011, and selected at 12 years of age. It is aged and bottled to the standards of The Bottled in Bond Act of 1897, so the whisky reaches the bottle unaltered from its original condition or character.

The mash bill is 84% corn, 8% rye and 8% malted barley, bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) in a 750 ml bottle. Before charcoal-mellow filtration, the whisky is chilled, the step George Dickel is still the only Tennessee distillery to take in the Lincoln County Process.

Tasting notes run bold, with pecan, maple syrup and dried apple, alongside caramel and a structured oak finish.

    About George Dickel

George A. Dickel was an established Nashville merchant when he entered the whisky business, building a reputation for the smoothest, most mellow spirits in the region. He preferred whisky made in the winter months, believing it tasted smoother, which led to the brand's chilled charcoal-mellow filtration, or Lincoln County Process. After moving locations within Tennessee and briefly to Kentucky, production returned to Tullahoma, where the whisky is still distilled and aged at a distillery that is part of the American Whiskey Trail.
