This single barrel release presents the Guadalupe bourbon without cutting or filtering, bottled at 127.2 proof (63.6% ABV) in a 750 ml bottle. Where the standard Guadalupe arrives at 107 proof, this version shows the port cask–finished whiskey straight from the barrel. A silver and bronze double-dip wax seal identifies each bottle as a single barrel selection.
It starts as the distillery's wheated bourbon, which spends more than four years maturing in the Texas heat before moving into hand-picked Tawny Port casks sourced from Portugal for another four years or longer, putting the total age past eight years. The barrels were filled years ago and held back, now released as part of the From the Vault Collection, where casks are laid down and left to develop at their own speed, shaped by grain, oak, Texas summers and a measure of luck. Since no two barrels match, each bottle reflects its own cask: ripe plums, strawberry butter, lavender honey and toasted coffee beans over a creamy body, closing with chocolate and cinnamon.
