Released in limited quantities, Motor Oil marks the 21st anniversary of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's debut album. Three separate whiskeys go into the blend: FEW Bourbon finished in rum barrels, FEW Bourbon finished in vermouth barrels, and a mesquite-smoked wheat whiskey.
The combination lands full-flavored and complex. Rum barrels bring grassy sweetness, vermouth barrels add herbaceous, bitter and vegetal notes, and heavy mesquite smoke runs underneath it all, calling up winding back roads, long highway stretches and roadside barbecue joints in West Texas. It's bottled at a rock n' roll 101 proof (50.5% ABV) in a 750 ml bottle.
