Description
On September 8, 1974, Evel Knievel strapped into the rocket-powered Skycycle X-2 and launched off the rim of Idaho's Snake River Canyon. The parachute opened too soon, the canyon won, and he lived to tell it. Snake River Reserve is the bottle for that day, with a coiled rattlesnake on the front and his rocket running up the side.
It spends five years in the barrel and comes out at full cask strength, with nothing added to tame it. Proof varies from barrel to barrel, from about 117 to 126.5. Made by Land Run Distillery in Newkirk, Oklahoma, it won a silver medal at the Las Vegas spirits awards.
Roasted peanut and pecan lead, followed by caramelized sugar, crème brûlée and cinnamon candy, with sweet corn, caramel and baking spice on a warm, lasting finish.
