Description
Dom Pérignon Vintage 2009 is a 750 ml Champagne bottled at 12.5% ABV. Dom Pérignon is made as a vintage wine only, each release drawn from the best grapes of a single year. Its vintages evolve not in a straight line but through successive windows of expression known as Plénitudes, with the First Plénitude arriving after roughly eight years of maturation, when harmony is first achieved and the Millésime is born.
The 2009 growing year was sunny, bold and generous, closing out the decade with ripe, rich fruit — extreme and paradoxical grapes that hint at the freshness and energy of the finished wine. The result reflects two movements: one guided by nature, the other by the creative ambition of the house.
Nose: guava, spicy green grapefruit zest, white peach and nectarine, followed by woody vanilla and warm, lightly toasted brioche. Palate: ripe, fleshy and profound fruit with tactile thickness and fleshy depth; beyond the richness and voluptuousness, an impression of consistency prevails, with silky, salty, sappy, bitter and briny sensations converging through a long aromatic persistence.
