Description

Del Maguey Barril is an extremely rare mezcal made from wild Barril agave that is over 30 years old, distilled in the clay and carrizo stills of Santa Catarina Minas. Each 750 ml bottle is bottled at 49% ABV, 98 proof.

Barril is the biggest, fattest varietal of the Karwinskiis, the family of agave that grows tree-like and produces a savory, complex mezcal. It is an extremely rare expression from a varietal that takes three years to grow.

The flavor profile is incredibly complex, spanning jasmine and ripe pear to wet green hay and forest floor, with earthy, wild agave character and the mark of the distillery. Like all Del Maguey Single Village Mezcal, it is made to be savored and sipped rather than shot.
