Description

Chateau Les Trois Croix Fronsac Bordeaux 2016 comes from a 750 ml bottling at 14.5% ABV, grown on one of the most privileged sites in the Fronsac appellation of south-west France. The estate sits 86 metres up on the highest limestone plateau in the commune, with views across the hills, valleys and typical tertre mounds of this Tuscany-like countryside.

The clay plateau is built on Fronsac molasse over large limestone blocks that often break the surface, conditions well suited to Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The 1712 date carved into the keystone of the cellar's arched roof marks the age of the estate.

Tasting notes: a balanced profile of ripe fruit, subtle oak and soft tannins, leading to a smooth, refined finish.

    About Chateau

Château Les Trois Croix is a family estate in Fronsac, discovered by the Léon family in June 1995 and now in the hands of the Patrick Léon family; the name refers to three crosses standing for the three children who made their parents' dream of making their own wine a reality. Patrick Léon has made wines for Alexis Lichine, Château Mouton Rothschild, Opus One in California and Almaviva in Chile. The family's approach is rooted in the land and in sharing a great wine without pretentiousness.
