Marking a decade of work in Portland's Buckman neighborhood, Burnside Buckman RSV is a 10-year-old bourbon finished in second-generation Garryana casks that have been heavily charred. Raised in the South and brought to maturity in the West, it arrives at 46% ABV, or 92 proof, in a 750 ml bottle.
The nose leads with spiced fruit bread, citrus and peppercorn, with quieter apple fruit and wood underneath. On the palate, assertive oak comes first, followed by dry floral tannins, while a welcoming warmth carries lemon peel and burnt sugar through to a long, dry finish.
