Description

W.L. Weller Millennium is a blend of straight whiskeys from Buffalo Trace, bringing together wheated bourbon and wheat whiskeys distilled around the turn of the millennium, with components aged up to nearly 25 years. The blend was assembled to show what wheat can do as an ultra-aged grain, and the resulting 750 ml bottling lands at 49.5% ABV, or 99 proof. The Weller name traces back to W.L. Weller, the bourbon that drinkers came to call the "poor man's Pappy."

Wheat sets the tone throughout, giving a softer, sweeter and more approachable character than rye-based whiskeys. The pour opens with tropical fruit, cherry and grape, then turns toward dusty leather and dark chocolate before a smooth close of oak and caramel. Marrying these whiskeys yields a harmony greater than the sum of the individual parts. The crystal decanter sits inside an illuminated white box and is topped with a custom-made closure carrying the Weller "W" stamp, part of a limited release.

    About Weller

Weller is the original wheated bourbon, using wheat in place of rye to produce a smoother, rounder whiskey. It remains one of the most sought-after bourbon labels among drinkers who pay attention to detail.
