Octomore Edition 14.3 is built on Islay barley grown just two miles from the distillery, a cereal-forward single malt shaped by terroir and local farming. The grain sits at the center of the whisky, with the peat smoke that defines the series running through it.
Head Distiller Adam Hannett drew out that grain character through maturation in first-fill ex-American whiskey casks and second-fill wine casks, oak chosen to complement the spirit rather than cover it. Bottled at 61.4% ABV in a 750 ml bottle.
On the nose, hot, sweet mash with soft biscuit notes from the malted barley, layered with earthy peat smoke. The palate is balanced and smooth in texture, with subtle notes that reflect the care taken in its making.
