Description

During the last run through the still, marigold blossoms — cempasúchil, a flower native to Mexico — and mandarin peels are placed in the base of the still, lending floral aromatics edged with citrus. Bottled at 47% ABV in a 750 ml format.

Espadín agave forms the backbone here. Considered the genetic mother of Blue Weber agave used for tequila, Espadín is also the agave most often distilled into mezcal. It brings wet-earth aromas, a rich smokiness across the mid-palate, and a wildflower-tinged close. The whole pour reads smoky and earthy, with roasted agave, citrus zest, and a touch of minerality and pepper at the end.
