Blanton's Original Single Barrel is bottled from one barrel at a time, so every release carries the character of the cask it came from rather than the averaged profile of a blend. Bottled at 46.5% ABV in a 700 ml bottle, it pours with the horse-and-jockey stopper that has become the signature of the range.
The nose is deep and settled, led by nutmeg and warm baking spice. On the palate, dry vanilla runs alongside touches of honey, with caramel and sweet corn filling in behind it. The finish is medium in length, with corn and nutmeg circling back at the end. Neat or with a small splash of water both suit it.
