Bacardi traces back to February 4, 1862, when Don Facundo Bacardí Massó and his family purchased a distillery in Santiago de Cuba. Setting aside the conventions of the day, they developed their own blends through a new rum-making process that reshaped how rum was made. The family name now carries more than 150 years of rum-making expertise.
