About Bacardi
On February 4, 1862, the Bacardí family, led by Don Facundo Bacardí Massó, bought a distillery in Santiago de Cuba. Setting aside the conventions of the day, they developed their own blends and a new rum-making process that reshaped how rum was made. The same family has now been making rum for more than 150 years.
