For this limited edition release, 1800 handed its top-tier Milenio expression over to Mexican surrealist Pedro Friedeberg. His artwork wraps the pyramid-shaped bottle in layered lines, shapes, patterns and shading, drawing on his early work with architecture to suggest buildings, places and landscapes. The result ties the design back to 1800 Tequila's Mexican roots while giving the 750 ml bottle a look of its own.
Inside is an extra a\u00f1ejo made from Weber blue agave. The tequila rests at length in new American oak barrels, then moves to French oak cognac casks for a second stage of maturation. That two-part aging shapes a soft, balanced 40% ABV pour: dark amber gold in the glass, oaky on the nose with vanilla, then vanilla, red fruit and cinnamon across the palate and a mint-chocolate finish.
